Job summary

The Springs Healthcare & Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support our residents in a skilled nursing setting. This PRN position provides 8-hour shifts and requires accurate medication administration under the direction of licensed nurses.

As a CMA, you will obtain reports, administer medications, monitor effects, document care, and participate in education programs while maintaining infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year healthcare experience preferred, long-term care experience beneficial.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain report from nurse being relieved and record medication administration details.
• Administer medications accurately (resident, medication, dose, route, time).
• Observe drug effects and report adverse effects to licensed nurse.
• Document care related to medication administration and report changes.
• Notify nurse of changes in residents’ conditions or medication issues.
• Perform duties of Certified Nurse Aide as assigned.
• Follow care plans for medication administration and resident assessment.
• Store medications correctly and monitor expiration dates.
