Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. in Hamlet, NC is seeking Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start classrooms on a flexible, on-demand schedule.

This part-time role requires caring, reliable individuals who can adapt to different classrooms. You will assist with daily activities, support learning and meals, supervise children, and help maintain a clean, organized environment while ensuring safety and positive interactions with children and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Looking for flexible work that makes a difference? UCCA is seeking Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms. This position is a strong fit for dependable individuals who enjoy working with young children and can adapt to different classrooms and daily needs.

Up to $101 per day

Schedule: On Demand. Part-time position; Monday–Friday 6:45am-3:30pm

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
