Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in Wadesboro, NC. This on-demand, part-time role runs Monday–Friday from 6:45am to 3:30pm, with a daily rate up to $101.

The position involves assisting teachers, supervising children, and helping with meals and routines. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, with EDU 119 or CDA preferred.

Qualifications

• EDU 119 or CDA preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
