Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II for per diem shifts in Texas. The role covers general laboratory testing across multiple sections, with emphasis on quality control, proficiency testing, and equipment maintenance.

The position involves phlebotomy duties, specimen handling, and blood product processing, with opportunities to work in Blood Bank and Microbiology as needed. Per diem shifts offer flexible scheduling and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• Military training in clinical laboratory procedures (50 weeks) and related specialty.
• 60+ sem hours with specified science and ML coursework and ABHES/NAACLS training.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex testing in Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank.
• Follow CLIA, CAP, AABB, JCAHO and OSHA standards and document QC and instrument maintenance.
• Recognize abnormal results, notify medical team, and assist in training new staff.
• Operate LIS/HIS systems to perform, charge, and report results.
