Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, process patient specimens, and ensure quality control within a busy laboratory team.

The role requires a degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology and appropriate certification, with opportunities to cross-train and participate in procedure development as part of a patient‑centered CHRITUS Health program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in lab science or medical technology from an accredited institution (or equivalent).
• Credentialing evaluation showing equivalence to US Bachelor’s degree in lab science or medical technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex lab procedures in assigned section.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Cross-train to other lab sections as needed.
• Ensure adherence to quality control programs and document results.
• Process patient specimens with appropriate handling and reporting of results.
• Utilize Laboratory Information System for data entry and result reporting.
• Notify and document critical lab values.
• Participate in developing and updating testing procedures and protocols.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology

Credentialing-equivalent to US Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science
