Qualifications

• Certification for MT/MLS/CLS/MLT from ASCP/AMT/AAB/HEW/HHS; state licensure may apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures in assigned sections.
• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots instrumentation and equipment; reports issues.
• Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as needed.
• Ensures the laboratory quality control program is followed.
• Calculates, verifies, and documents results; uses the Laboratory Information System.
• Handles and processes patient specimens with attention to pediatric considerations.
• Participates in developing and updating testing procedures and protocols.
