Job summary

Naval Academy Business Services Division (NABSD) at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, seeks a Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operator) to support events, dining facilities, and retail operations.

You will operate vehicles, set up banquet spaces, and assist with inventory and logistics to ensure smooth execution of functions. The role requires the ability to lift heavy items, work in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate with a team while maintaining safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license with no DMV infractions.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Experience operating motor vehicles and performing inventory tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple vehicle types (gasoline, diesel, electric) up to 10,000 lb capacity.
• Set up and tear down banquet rooms and event spaces per guidance.
• Cleans kitchens, dining spaces, and supports dishwashing as needed.
• Transport equipment and supplies between NABSD locations.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as directed.
• Follow safety practices to protect NABSD vehicles and gear.
• Lifts/moves items over 50 lbs using dollies and hand trucks.
• Move between retail stores, food areas, warehouses, and laundry areas as assigned.
• Collaborate effectively as a team member and maintain professionalism.
