Scoot Education in California seeks substitute teachers to support classrooms, supervise students, and implement lesson plans with guidance from teachers. You’ll work day-to-day assignments, with W-2 employment, direct deposit pay, and paid training opportunities.

Requirements include a bachelor's or equivalent, three references, background checks, TB risk assessment, and a credential or 30-day permit; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks.
• TB risk assessment or test.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students.
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings.
• Additional role requirements will be in the handbook and shared during the interview process.
