Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitute teachers and classroom support professionals to help students thrive in California schools. You'll be matched to assignments by a dedicated Scoot consultant, with 1:1 check-ins, ongoing career planning, and paid training opportunities.

As a W-2 employee with daily pay options, you will support classrooms, foster inclusive environments, and collaborate with school staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks.
• TB risk assessment or test.
• Teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
