Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitutes and paraprofessionals to support students across classrooms, playgrounds, and cafeterias. You will help create inclusive learning environments and work under teacher plans, with guidance from a Scoot consultant and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Requirements include a degree or college credits, background checks, and a teaching credential or permit where applicable.

Qualifications

• Three professional references including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State and federal background checks.
• TB risk assessment or test.
• Teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit (required or preferred).
• Experience in special education settings is advantageous.
• Bilingual ability or bilingual teaching experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, inclusive learning environment.
• Manage routines, behavior, and transitions per teacher’s plans.
• Communicate clearly with school staff; leave notes for the returning teacher.
• Assist students physically if needed (lift up to 30 lbs).
• Observe and report across indoor and outdoor settings.
