Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitute teachers in California to supervise and support students, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment. You will work day-to-day assignments with direct deposit pay and be hired as a W-2 employee.

Applicants should have a teaching credential or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, plus state and federal background checks. Training opportunities and ongoing career guidance are provided by Scoot Education consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks
• TB risk assessment or test

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings.
