Job summary

The Arc Southern Chesapeake is hiring a full‑time Floater- Residential Support Professional in Lexington Park, MD. You will provide on-site instruction and support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, working as part of a team to promote self-direction and independence.

You may assist with daily living skills, transportation, and community activities, and you must be able to travel between residential locations.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driving license, no permit/provisional
• Able to pass Maryland background check
• Reliable vehicle for transporting individuals
• Good driving record (no more than 2 points)
• Enjoy assisting people and providing hands-on support

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with physical and personal management needs (health, grooming, toileting, eating)
• Help with household management (meal prep, laundry, cleaning, decoration) and transportation to maximize independence
• Assist with and/or dispense medication as certified or other prescribed medical treatments
• Support development of friendships and relationships
• Provide community involvement opportunities and assist in identifying needs for community supports
• Plan, enable informed choices, and advocate for individuals' responsibilities
