Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking an Early Childhood Education support assistant for our Head Start programs in Mississippi. You will assist teachers in planning daily activities and support individual learning plans to foster positive development in young children.

The role requires supervision of preschoolers, strong communication, and adherence to safety protocols while maintaining classroom routines and health/sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• GED/High School Diploma minimum with post high school educational coursework in Early Childhood Education/Development desirable.
• Typically one year preschool classroom experience or equivalent.
• Strong communications skills, especially listening and writing.
• Knowledge of behaviors/expectations of three- and four-year-old children.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in planning and implementing daily classroom activities and educational programs.
• Provide individualized support to children during small group and one-on-one activities.
• Active supervision of children at all times, ensuring safety protocols.
• Help maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times.
• Participate in Parent Committee meetings and program activities.
• Complete required annual trainings in Early Childhood Education or related fields.
• Support and interpret Head Start learning objectives to children, parents and community.
