Community Action of South Mississippi is seeking a Floater to serve as a classroom substitute in Head Start programs. The role supports the teacher, maintains program ratios, and helps create a safe, engaging environment for infants and preschoolers.

The Floater assists with quality classroom activities aligned to Head Start Performance Standards and works to enhance children’s growth, academic readiness, and social skills through responsive supervision and activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain CDA within eighteen (18) months of start date.
• A minimum of six (6) months experience working with toddlers and pre-school age children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as classroom substitute to maintain program ratios.
• Assist the teacher in delivering quality classroom activities meeting Head Start standards.
• Supervise and enhance services provided to children to support growth and learning.
