Qualifications

• GED/HS diploma required; post-high school coursework in Early Childhood Education/Development desirable.
• Demonstrated classroom ability; typically one year preschool experience or equivalent.
• Strong communications, especially listening and writing, skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with individualized activities to meet each child’s needs.
• Support setting up learning environments (indoor/outdoor) for daily activities.
• Observe and record behaviors to help identify strengths and areas for growth.
• Follow lesson plans reflecting mandated elements and promote holistic development.
• Provide continuous supervision of children during activities, indoors and outdoors.
• Assist with meal service and general maintenance of the facility.
• Report concerns to supervisor and support parent involvement in the classroom.
