Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

You will help clients build daily living skills, participate in community activities, and work toward personal goals while ensuring safety, dignity, and respect. A supportive team and ongoing training accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent or completed training.
• Competency test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow each Individual Support Plan.
• Report updates and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living tasks (cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, transportation).
• Encourage participation in shopping, social events, and appointments.
• Support personal goals and greater independence.
• Promote dignity, self-advocacy, and respect.
• Document services and progress accurately.
• Communicate with the team to provide high-quality support.
