Job summary

SpecSys is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and program control systems for mobile equipment, including electrical components, schematics, and BOMs. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a strong background in electrical controls, experience with SAE J1939/CANopen, and proficiency with CAD and PLC programming. A degree in EE/EET and 4+ years in relevant roles are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of controls, electrical, and mobile equipment experience.
• Experience with mobile equipment electrical design or mobile equipment controls.
• Familiar with SAE J1939 and CANopen.

Responsibilities

• Verify the design meets performance and configuration specifications.
• Develop and update project timelines, including periodic reviews.
• Develop system concepts to meet project function.
• Perform engineering calculations to verify design requirements.
• Provide technical data to the client, designers, and drafters.
• Develop electronic control systems and provide PLC/HMI programming.
• Create and validate harness designs and panel layouts for integration.
• Review and update BOMs; support engineering change orders.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and project managers for on-time delivery.
