Job summary

SpecSys Inc. seeks a Controls Engineer to design and program control systems for mobile equipment. You will select electrical components, develop control loops, schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and manuals.

Collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and project management ensures on-time, on-budget delivery and safe, reliable systems. The role requires experience with PLC programming, HMI/GUI, SAE J1939/CANopen, and CAD tools, and a strong background in electrical design and mobile equipment

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
4+ years of controls, electrical, and mobile equipment experience.
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required skill set.

Responsibilities

Verify the design meets performance and configuration specifications.
Develop and update project timelines, including periodic reviews.
Develop system concepts to meet project function.
Perform engineering calculations to verify design requirements.
Provide technical data to clients, designers, and drafters.
Develop electronic control systems to meet customer expectations and specifications.
Provide programming for controls, including PLCs and HMI/GUI components.
Provide analysis to verify system function (FMEA, design verification).
Prepare system operation documents for the customer.
Prepare and present project design review booklets to the customer.
Prepare system schematics for AC/DC circuits in single- and/or three-phase environments.
Create and validate harness designs and panel layouts.
Specify materials and purchase components for design.
Develop harness drawings and panel layouts using 2D/3D CAD.
Support mechanical engineering for system integration.
