Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiographic and CT equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images per physician directions. The role emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, adherence to protocols, and collaboration within the radiology team.

You will review indications, coordinate with radiologists, and manage data across PACS/RIS/HIS/EMR while maintaining strict safety and confidentiality standards. A strong emphasis on mentoring staff and students is included.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certificate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Ability to work the specified hours and maintain safety standards.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform the duties.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to hear and distinguish speech and sounds.
  • Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiographic and CT equipment to produce diagnostic images as directed by physicians.
  • Perform radiology procedures accurately and efficiently following standards.
  • Initiate intervention with radiologist or referring practitioner for urgent exams.
  • Review exam indications and report inappropriate indications to supervisor.
  • Provide complete and accurate exam data to the reading radiologist.
  • Use PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR systems; perform general clerical duties.
  • Archive image data and ensure images reach the radiologist group.
  • Understand legal implications of imaging reports and images.
  • Maintain department policies, safety, quality and infection control standards.
  • Assist and mentor staff and students with training and rotations.
  • Assist with data analysis and records management for audits and compliance.

Job description

  • • Operate radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians
  • • Perform radiology procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to established standards and protocols
  • • Initiate proper intervention with the radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention
  • • Review exam indications and report inappropriate indications to the supervisor
  • • Provide complete and accurate exam data to the reading radiologist
  • • Use PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR computer systems and perform general clerical duties
  • • Archive image data, send images to the radiologist group, and retrieve stored images from PACS or disc backup
  • • Understand medical and legal implications related to imaging reports and images
  • • Maintain department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environment, and infection control standards
  • • Assist and mentor staff and students with on-the-job training, clinical rotations, and orientation
  • • Assist with analysis, collection, and maintenance of records required by department management, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR, OSHA, the facility, or law
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) within 60 days
  • Ability to work the specified hours
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Compliance with applicable safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards, including CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA
