Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine radiographic and CT procedures, ensuring high-quality images and timely interpretation by Radiologists.

The role requires ARRT certification, CT training, and state licensure, with flexibility to work evenings or weekends. You will assist in safety programs and supervise students at the MWH School of Radiologic Technology.

Qualifications

  • Completion of accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology with documented CT training or cross-training completion.
  • Advanced-level CT certification within one year of hire.
  • VA State Radiologic Technologist License required.
  • American Heart Association CPR required.
  • Six months relevant experience required; three years preferred.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs and push/pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to wear PPE due to exposure hazards.
  • MRI Associates must complete MRI Associate screening.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and perform routine radiographic and CT procedures as ordered.
  • Produce high-quality images and present them with comparison studies to the Radiologist.
  • Confirm orders, verify patient identities, and obtain medical histories.
  • Perform radiology and CT examinations for patients of all ages.
  • Transport patients when required.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, safety protocols and radiation-safety practices.
  • Greet patients and staff professionally.
  • Address customer needs and manage calls and messages.
  • Maintain a safe environment and safety-management programs.
  • Monitor inventory and restock supplies.
  • Record and file patient data to support operations and billing.
  • Administer contrast agents per guidelines.
  • Participate in Diagnostic Radiology performance-improvement using FOCUS PDCA.
  • Maintain proficiency in RIS and other radiology information-management systems.
  • Supervise and instruct students and support the MWH School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Prepare patients and perform routine radiographic and CT procedures according to physicians’ orders and the procedure manual
  • Produce high-quality images and present them with comparison studies and relevant patient information to the Radiologist for timely interpretation
  • Confirm physicians’ orders, verify patient identities, and obtain medical histories
  • Perform radiology and CT examinations for patients of all age groups
  • Transport patients from the FSED or Emergency Department/Nursing Units when required
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, standards, protocols, and radiation-safety practices
  • Greet patients, visitors, family members, physicians, and Associates professionally
  • Address customer needs and manage telephone calls and messages
  • Maintain a safe environment and support safety-management programs
  • Monitor inventory, report depletion, and restock supplies
  • Record and file patient and procedural data to document operations and support billing
  • Administer contrast agents according to established guidelines
  • Participate in Diagnostic Radiology performance-improvement activities using the FOCUS PDCA approach
  • Maintain proficiency in the RIS and other radiology/organizational information-management systems
  • Supervise and instruct students and support the MWH School of Radiologic Technology
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Completion of accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
  • ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology with documented training on diagnostic CT exams, or successful documented completion of the MWHC/MIF cross-training program in lieu of documented training
  • Advanced-level certification by the ARRT or NMTCB in computed tomography required within one year of hire
  • VA State Radiologic Technologist License required for all outpatient facilities
  • American Heart Association CPR required
  • Six months relevant experience required; three years preferred
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment due to exposure hazards
  • MRI Associates must complete MRI Associate screening and be approved to work in MRI Zones 3 and 4
