Avera in Colorado is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and CT imaging per physician directions, ensuring high-quality diagnostic data. You will operate equipment, follow protocols, and maintain patient safety while coordinating with radiologists and referring staff.

Qualifications

  • Must hold ARRT Certification and be certified in radiography.
  • Proficient in radiographic and CT imaging procedures.
  • Experience with PACS, RIS, HIS and EMR systems.
  • Ability to work within safety standards and Joint Commission guidelines.

Job description

  • Operate radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians
  • Perform radiology procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to established standards and protocols
  • Initiate appropriate intervention with radiologists or referring practitioners when exams indicate immediate attention
  • Review exam indications and report inappropriate indications to the supervisor
  • Provide complete and accurate exam data for radiologist interpretation
  • Use PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR systems and perform general clerical duties
  • Archive image data, send images to the radiologist group, and retrieve stored images from PACS or disc backup
  • Apply medical and legal responsibilities related to imaging reports and images
  • Maintain department policies, procedures, quality assessment, safety, environmental, and infection-control standards
  • Assist and mentor staff and students with on-the-job training, clinical rotations, and orientation
  • Assist with records and quality activities required by the department, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR, OSHA, facility, or law
  • Apply Avera’s mission, vision, core values, social principles, and CARE standards while serving patients, families, and the community
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 60 Days
  • Ability to work the specified hours, including primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Compliance with applicable safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards, including CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA
