Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiographic and CT equipment and provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians. The role emphasizes safety, protocol adherence, and collaboration with radiologists and staff.

Responsibilities include on-going image data handling, collaboration with the team, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. On-call duties may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certificate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Certification within 60 days.
  • Ability to work days with on-call nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team.

Job description

  • Operate radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians
  • Perform radiology procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to established standards and protocols
  • Initiate appropriate intervention with radiologists or referring practitioners when exams require immediate attention
  • Review exam indications and report inappropriate indications to the supervisor
  • Provide complete and accurate exam data to the reading radiologist
  • Use PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR systems and perform general clerical duties
  • Archive image data, send images to radiologist groups, and retrieve stored images from PACS or disc backup
  • Maintain compliance with department policies, procedures, quality assessment, safety, environment, and infection control requirements
  • Assist and mentor staff and students with on-the-job training, clinical rotations, and orientation
  • Assist with records and quality-related activities required by department management, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR, OSHA, facility, or law
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) within 60 days
  • Ability to work specified hours, including primarily days with night, weekend, and holiday on-call involvement
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Compliance with applicable safety laws, regulations, and standards, including CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA
