Responsibilities

  • Coordinate notification, reporting, and smooth functioning of equipment.
  • Oversee Technologist activity.
  • Plan, direct, and organize Technologist activity and schedules, including protocol implementation.
  • Provide emergency consultation when problems arise.
  • Promote harmonious and professional relationships within the Center and with referral sources.
  • Deliver patient care.
  • Initiate, monitor, and terminate procedures.
  • Assist with cleanup after treatment.
  • Inform patients about clinical policies and ensure follow-through on inquiries.
  • Administer contrast.
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment and anticipated effects.
  • Establish preventive maintenance schedules and ensure documentation.
  • Report improperly functioning equipment and arrange correction.
  • Ensure adequate medical and radiographic equipment supplies.
  • Teach and plan proper equipment cleaning.
  • Help develop and implement new procedural techniques and protocols.
  • Evaluate new and existing equipment performance.
  • Make recommendations and communicate with Medical Director and COO.
  • Report on Technologists’ competence to the Medical Director.
  • Cooperate in orientation and training on new protocols.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Promote recognition of personnel contributions.
  • Maintain and upgrade competence, education, and skills.

Requirements
  • Must possess an Associates of Applied Science Degree from an approved collegiate or hospital based Radiologic Technology program
  • Must be A.R.R.T. certified
  • MRI certification required
  • At least 2 years of MRI experience
  • Adequate on-the-job training on maintenance of equipment
  • Able to identify or detect and correct mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, or contact the proper resource for repair
  • Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
  • Physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation
