State of Tennessee seeks a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support the Vehicle and Asset Management division, focusing on telematics, inspections, upfits, and vehicle preparation for service, reassignment, surplus, sale, or disposal.

You will generate reports from the fleet telematics system, coordinate with vendors and departments, and use Microsoft 365 to maintain records; standard hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with hybrid benefit options and comprehensive benefits.

Formación

• Education equivalent to high school graduation and five years in automotive maintenance or fleet ops.
• Education/experience substitutions allowed to max 3 or 4 years as described in the posting.
• Experience in procurement or fleet operations may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis to fit requirements.
• Substitutions for education or experience are allowed per State policy to reach the required five years.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect and receive new vehicles and equipment, document condition, mileage, damage, and required actions.
• Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot vehicle telematics and GPS devices.
• Perform telematics-related vehicle upfits, including wiring and mounting.
• Install license plates, registration materials, and identification on vehicles and equipment.
• Apply decals and identification numbers in accordance with standards.
• Prepare vehicles for surplus, sale, transfer, or disposal.
• Remove telematics devices from surplus or reassignment vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles after installations to ensure proper operation and compliance.
• Maintain fleet records for installation, inspection, receiving, surplus, and inventory.
• Generate, review, and distribute telematics reports to support fleet management and safety.
• Use Microsoft 365 apps to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with VAM staff, vendors, and departments regarding deliveries and installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
