Job summary

Sysco Corp. is seeking a Fleet Technician Journeyman/Technician trainee to support safe, reliable and cost-efficient fleet operations in Monroe, MI.

You will learn to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair a range of vehicles and equipment to prevent breakdowns and reduce downtime. Under supervision, you will document work in SAP, grow proficiency with Sysco programs, and help ensure DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year program in Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training preferred.
• Actual experience not required; education provided as part of role.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under supervision.
• Perform maintenance repairs on vehicles and equipment (engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, electrical systems).
• Document all work on SAP work orders with issue/cause/correction format.
• Develop efficiency with Sysco computer programs.
• Assess roadworthiness and DOT compliance before releasing equipment.
• Collaborate with management to create a prioritized fleet work schedule.
