Job summary

WM is seeking a 2nd Shift Fleet Supervisor in Florida. The role supervises technicians, coordinates maintenance, and ensures timely repairs. The schedule is Monday–Friday 5:00 PM–2:00 AM with occasional Saturdays. The candidate should have leadership experience and knowledge of diesel or CNG systems.

The position emphasizes safety, workflow management, and reporting, with responsibilities ranging from coaching staff to tracking parts and maintaining quality benchmarks.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.
  • Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, monitors progress and quality.
  • Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents.
  • Performs mechanical duties as needed.
  • Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed.
  • Oversees coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Interprets and ensures compliance with safety policies.
  • Creates and submits reports as necessary.

I. Job Summary

Supervises and provides direct leadership for technicians. Manages work flow and assigns tasks.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.
  • Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality.
  • Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents.
  • Performs mechanical duties as needed.
  • Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed.
  • Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.
  • Creates and submits reports as necessary.
