Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Supervisor-Fleet Services to lead heavy and light duty automotive repair for the City’s Fleet. You will supervise mechanics, manage parts, and direct service delivery while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities include prioritizing work, training staff, performing evaluations, and coordinating with vendors. A CDL and strong leadership are required for this on-site role with potential for growth in municipal fleet operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) years of mechanical repair experience with gasoline or diesel vehicles.
  • Two (2) years in a supervisory/lead role.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record; Texas Class A/B CDL within probation.

Responsibilities

  • Directs shop productivity, assists mechanics, trains staff, and evaluates performance.
  • Oversees parts, inventory, tool procurement, and shop audits and maintenance logs.
  • Assigns work orders, schedules maintenance, and ensures service delivery meets requirements.
  • Interviews and selects candidates; handles employee relations and disciplinary actions.
