Job summary

City of Fort Myers seeks a Fleet Maintenance Clerk to serve as the single point of contact for vehicle repairs and service, document all work orders, and assist with fuel supply management across City sites.

The role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to interact with customers and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate service and records management.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training.
• Two years of experience in a repair facility specializing in automotive, light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, and/or construction equipment repairs.
• ASE certification as Automobile Service Consultant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing service needs and addressing questions.
• Document customer information, vehicle details, and service requests in the system.
• Create, manage and track work orders to ensure timely completion.
• Collaborate with Senior Supervisor to prioritize and schedule repairs and parts.
• Coordinate with Mechanics to clarify service requests and communicate repairs.
• Provide updates to customers on vehicle status and changes from initial service request.
• Solicit and document customer feedback to improve service quality.
• Maintain records of service history and customer interactions.
• Oversee fuel site operation and fuel order accuracy.
• Manage inventory and maintenance of bulk oils and disposal per regulations.
• Coordinate vehicle drop-off and pick-up and liaise with body shops for estimates.
