Job summary

WTI TRANSPORT is seeking a fleet maintenance/dispatch professional in Tuscaloosa, AL to respond to road service calls, coordinate repairs, and support owner operators. You will log issues, manage vendor payments, and maintain communication across drivers and shops.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in fleet maintenance/dispatch, familiarity with DOT regulations, and strong Microsoft Office skills. The role emphasizes vendor management and efficient repair expediting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, dispatch, or roadside assistance (trucking industry preferred).
• Familiarity with DOT regulations, roadside safety, and vendor management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Respond to road service calls from drivers experiencing vehicle breakdowns or mechanical issues.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues over the phone and coordinate repairs with drivers, vendors, and company shops, logging issues in Transman.
• Support Owner Operators with breakdowns and vendor payments.
• Create purchase orders and virtual payments for vendors.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication between drivers, vendors, and the maintenance team.
• Maintain vendor portals (e.g., Loves, Travel Centers of America, Michelin).
• Expedite repair processes for out-of-service trailers and tractors.
• Assist Admin with billing credits, duplicates, and corrections.
• Submit forms and follow processes to onboard new vendors and update location information.
• Perform Related duties as assigned
