Job summary

US Foods is seeking a skilled Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our diesel fleet at the Belle Chasse facility. You will diagnose issues, complete scheduled PMs, and document work in our fleet software to keep equipment safe and compliant with DOT standards.

Onsite role with strong team support, excellent training, and career growth within US Foods. Required: 3 years’ hands-on experience, own tools, and willingness to travel for training.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
• Willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency for reefer equipment repairs.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience using fleet maintenance software (preferred).
• Welding ability (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and replace diesel equipment such as tractors, trailers, and lift gates.
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls and coordinate with third-party vendors and partners.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety guidelines.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software.
• Mentor other maintenance staff and back up teammates.
• Willing to take on increased responsibilities and certifications.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
