Job summary

The City of Houston seeks a Fleet Quality Assurance Coordinator to oversee quality assurance for in-house and outsourced fleet services. This role emphasizes attention to detail, process improvements, and reliable service delivery across City garages.

You will develop policies, monitor performance, conduct root cause analyses, supervise inspectors, and partner with Contracts and Training to elevate fleet quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology or 18-month certification/licensing.
• Seven years of automotive and/or heavy equipment maintenance/repair experience.
• CJIS access approval to City of Houston garages.
• ASE Master Technician status within 18 months of employment.
• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality assurance for in-house and outsourced fleet services.
• Develop and implement quality policies, standards and procedures.
• Monitor performance and ensure accuracy of department reports.
• Perform random inspections and document issues; track resolution progress.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis and prepare service bulletins.
• Supervise quality inspectors and support department training.
• Advise management on industry trends and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with contracts to ensure compliance with terms.
