Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks a Fleet Parts & Inventory Specialist - Transportation to manage parts, supplies, and tools for the district vehicle fleet. You will purchase, track, and reconcile inventory while supporting mechanics and shop operations.

Requires two years in inventory control with a High School diploma or GED; Minnesota CDL is required. This on-site role offers competitive benefits and a unionized work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of inventory management experience.
• Technical training in vehicle mechanics or an Associate’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and record-keeping practices.

Responsibilities

• Order vehicle parts, obtain price quotes, and issue purchase orders.
• Receive, reconcile, and record materials and inventory items.
• Deliver parts to mechanics and assist with repair work as needed.
• Process invoices and verify goods received against orders.
• Update inventory records and post entries in the computer system.
