Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Georgia is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement.

The role trains on DOT compliance and driver/company policy adherence across internal and external contacts. Responsibilities include carrier setup, fleet optimization, payroll and budgeting tasks, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience
• Ability to travel to account, customer and company events
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends
• Willingness to regionally relocate depending on assignment

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup and productivity
• Fill in for absent personnel and assist with special projects to optimize fleet operations
• Learn personnel management including training and orientation of drivers
• Assist in maximizing efficiency and profitability and present reporting and financial analysis
• Learn to manage yard and coordinate maintenance for account equipment
• Assist with payroll, budgeting, driver counseling, and invoicing tasks
• Resolve service issues, routing, and planning with drivers and customers
