Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee in Georgia to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe, timely freight movement and best-in-class customer service.

You will be trained to ensure DOT compliance and handle payroll, budgets, driver coaching, reporting, and load planning as part of developing future leadership in fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or HS diploma with 1 year related experience.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and event locations when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends if needed.
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.
• Experience managing a team is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers for seamless carrier setup and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and staff.
• Analyze KPIs and create customer reports, aiming to improve fleet efficiency and profitability.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market.
• Handle payroll, budgets, driver counseling, invoicing, and safety/documentation tasks.
• Oversee yard operations and coordinate maintenance to keep account equipment safe and serviced.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues and plan routing.
