Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Manager, Fleet Operations in Phoenix, AZ. Lead a trio of Fleet Coordinators to manage equipment transfers, procurement, and fleet documentation while driving data-driven reporting and SOPs across the organization.

You will partner with IT and BI teams to improve dashboards, establish SOPs, and ensure timely, compliant fleet movement. A strong emphasis on safety culture and cross-location coordination is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Fleet operations, logistics, equipment rental, construction equipment, transportation, procurement, or related operational experience.
• Experience coordinating movement of equipment across multiple locations or markets.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to organize, analyze, reconcile, and communicate complex fleet data.
• Experience partnering with IT/analytics teams to improve reporting, dashboards, data quality, or operational visibility.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of approximately three Fleet Coordinators.
• Oversee the movement and repositioning of rental equipment between markets.
• Maximize load efficiency and cost-effective movement of equipment.
• Coordinate with field operations and logistics teams for fleet transfers and availability.
• Manage fleet procurement workflows including purchase orders to suppliers.
• Track purchased equipment, delivery schedules, ETAs, and delays.
• Document new equipment, assign unit numbers, and update systems.
• Balance work across Fleet Coordinators as equipment moves through lifecycle.
• Partner with used equipment sales and vehicle management for disposition.
• Maintain fleet records and data integrity for timely decisions.
• Develop, document, and maintain fleet SOPs and reports with IT.
• Provide updates and recommendations to leadership on priorities.
