Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Leetsdale, PA is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe, on-time freight movement and top-notch customer service.

Under supervision, you will train to ensure DOT compliance, manage driver performance, payroll, budgeting, and reporting, and collaborate with drivers and customers to optimize fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Equivalent military experience may substitute for 1 year of management/related experience.
• Willingness to travel to account locations and events.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup and productivity.
• Fill in for unavailable personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn personnel management, including training and orientation of drivers and employees.
• Plan, route, monitor, and provide customer reporting and financial analysis at customer locations.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market.
• Perform payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and prepare operational/financial reports.
• Coordinate yard management, maintenance scheduling, and safety/compliance issues.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service and routing issues.
• Maintain safety culture with regular driver safety messages and trainings; ensure DOT compliance.
