Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Huntersville, NC is seeking a trainee to learn management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe, timely movement of freight and best-in-class customer service.

You will be trained to comply with DOT regulations, support load planning, driver coordination, inventory and yard management, and reporting to optimize fleet efficiency, performance, and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or GED with 1 year in management/transportation/logistics
• Willing to travel to account and company events
• Able to work nights and weekends as needed
• Regional relocation flexibility based on account assignment

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure smooth carrier setup and productivity
• Fill in for absent personnel and assist with fleet operations projects
• Train drivers and employees on internal and customer systems
• Analyze KPI reporting and provide customer-specific financial reports
• Manage yard, equipment checks, and coordinate maintenance
• Plan loads, route freight, monitor movement to meet on-time service
