J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager II to lead driver management, ensure DOT compliance, and optimize freight routing and service delivery.

The role requires flexible shifts including day, night, and weekends to meet demand across markets. The manager will build strong driver and customer relationships, analyze fleet performance, and supervise administrative tasks such as payroll and incident reviews.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Strong professional communication skills internal and external.
• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships.
• Experience in fostering customer relationships via delivery of commitments and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Train and orient drivers and staff; assist with internal and third-party systems.
• Analyze fleet operations, measure KPIs, and present reporting to customers and stakeholders.
• Manage inventory and driver assignment to balance equipment in market.
• Perform payroll, driver counseling, and administrative duties.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and safety issues.
• Resolve service and routing issues with drivers, customers, and personnel.
• Maintain safety culture with daily messages and training; ensure DOT compliance.
