Job summary

The Town of Mammoth Lakes seeks a Fleet Operations Supervisor to manage the Garage Operations division, coordinating maintenance, repair, reconditioning, and purchases of all motorized equipment for the Town.

You will supervise staff, develop policies, oversee contracts, budget planning, fuel programs, and compliance with CARB and DOT requirements, ensuring safe, cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of journey-level maintenance and repair with diesel and hydraulic systems.
• At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a municipal fleet setting is preferred.
• College degree, coursework, or on-the-job training with demonstrated managerial abilities in Fleet or Automotive Management.
• Possession of a California Class C driver license; Class A/B within 12 months is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Garage Operations staff and coordinate activities for maintenance, repair, and parts management.
• Develop and apply administrative policies for repair and preventative maintenance operations.
• Oversee contracts for external repair and rental of equipment and manage fleet budgets.
