Job summary

The City of South Lake Tahoe is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the Fleet Division within the Public Works Department. This leadership role oversees fleet maintenance planning, scheduling, repair, replacement, and safe operation of City vehicles and heavy equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, proven supervisory skills, and the ability to manage budgets, safety programs, and after-hours emergency operations including snow removal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction/maintenance preferred.
• Five years in fleet, facility, or building trades with supervision experience.
• Valid California or Nevada driver’s license; CDL within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fleet maintenance, repair, and replacement for City vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Manage division budget, staff development, and work-order systems.
• Ensure safety, DOT, OSHA, and environmental compliance; respond to emergencies and snow removal needs.
