Confidential is seeking a Fleet Manager in Nolensville, TN to oversee safe, reliable, and efficient company transportation services. You will lead fleet personnel, coordinate maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

You will monitor performance, manage driver scheduling, provide coaching, and support operational excellence across transportation functions while maintaining records and reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; further degrees preferred.
  • Prior leadership/management experience in transportation or fleet ops.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities; strong documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems; valid driver's license; CDL preferred depending on ops.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily fleet operations to ensure safe, reliable transportation.
  • Supervise, coach, and support drivers and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Investigate incidents and safety concerns per procedures.
  • Maintain operational records, reports, and documentation.
  • Conduct performance coaching and training coordination.
  • Lead safety meetings and operational reviews.
  • Foster relationships with customers, employees, and partners.
  • Support staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of company transportation services. This role leads fleet personnel, ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, manages vehicle utilization and maintenance activities, and supports operational excellence across all transportation functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily fleet operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services.
  • Supervise, coach, and support drivers and transportation staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance programs and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Investigate and respond to incidents, accidents, and safety concerns in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain operational records, reports, and required documentation.
  • Conduct performance coaching, training coordination, and ongoing development of transportation personnel.
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings and operational reviews.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers, employees, and business partners.
  • Support staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning needs. (Suggested management responsibility.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in transportation, fleet operations, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
