Job summary

City of San Marcos seeks a Fleet Services Manager to oversee the operation of the City’s vehicle and equipment fleet, manage maintenance, parts inventory, and the fleet management system. Lead shop operations, supervise staff, and ensure safe, well-maintained assets that support critical city services.

Responsibilities include budgeting, contracting, scheduling preventive maintenance, and coordinating with departments.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience supervising fleet services operations.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• ASE Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee City-owned and leased fleet assets for reliability and compliance.
• Develop and administer the Fleet Services Division budget and negotiate expenditures.
• Manage fleet-related contracts and coordinate renewals with Purchasing.
• Lead personnel management: hiring, training, supervision, and development.
• Oversee daily maintenance shop operations and preventative maintenance schedules.
