Job summary

The City of San Antonio seeks an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to oversee Fire & EMS vehicle and equipment services across assigned centers. This leadership role directs staff and ensures efficient maintenance, budgeting, and vendor coordination to meet city goals.

Responsibilities include monitoring fleet availability, improving cost recovery, and planning fleet-center operations while enforcing contract compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible managerial and technical experience in fleet operations management, leasing, repair, or maintenance, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the administration and coordination of the leasing, maintenance, and repair of the City's vehicle fleet.
• Monitors fleet availability each day and intervenes when indicators fall below targets, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensures contract compliance for all fleet shop functions.
• Plans and coordinates fleet centers and shops to improve resource utilization.
• Performs supervisory functions including counseling, performance evaluations, and training.
