Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Manager of Fleet Support Operations in San Francisco to lead the Base Operations team, drive initiatives, and measure efficiencies across our vehicle fleets. You will develop KPIs, mentor staff, and manage budget while ensuring safety and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, strategic planning, and delivering a best-in-class maintenance and repair program to maximize fleet uptime.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of transportation industry experience, preferably in operations, with 5+ years of managing teams of 10+ across multiple projects.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, organizational, and operational skill sets.
• Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrates awareness of environmental, health, and safety protocols.
• Communicates clearly and effectively; comfortable engaging with senior leadership.
• Experience building cross-functional relationships that help the team scale.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage the Fleet Support Operations team and cross-functional relationships to ensure execution of business initiatives, improve processes, and effectively deploy systems and infrastructure as planned.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching, leadership development and training, and performance management.
• Strategically forecast team growth aligned with the company roadmap; lead recruitment and onboarding for workshop personnel.
• Define, track, and drive continuous improvement across systems, applications, tools, methods, and changes to increase fleet uptime.
• Define and execute objectives and KPIs, reinforce team engagement, and celebrate success.
• Optimize current workstreams to reduce downtime in vehicle maintenance and repairs and increase uptime for testing.
• Forecast and oversee the team budget for crew and vehicle supplies.
• Enforce environmental, health, and safety policies; maintain a safe, organized workshop.
