Job summary

Zoox in Boston, MA seeks a Team Lead for Ground Operations (3rd Shift) to drive overnight fleet maintenance, rework, and mission readiness. You will lead a team of vehicle technicians and readiness associates, optimize workflows, and ensure maximum fleet uptime for daytime operations.

You will shape a positive workshop culture, manage schedules, track KPIs, and escalate complex issues while enforcing safety and quality standards across multiple sites as operations scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on automotive technician experience with 2+ years in people leadership or supervision.
• Willingness and ability to lead overnight operations (3rd shift).
• Extensive knowledge of automotive maintenance methods, diagnostics, parts, and tools including CAN/LIN, wiring diagrams, and soldering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate technical details for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time, multitask, and drive priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead overnight maintenance and rework activities to maximize daytime vehicle availability.
• Serve as primary escalation point for complex technical issues and ensure quality standards.
• Track KPIs and provide feedback to help the team achieve targets.
• Enforce health and safety policies and maintain clean, organized workshop.
• Coordinate shift scheduling and onboarding for workshop staff and contractors.
