Job summary

Zoox in Foster City, California is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to help architect and build the real-time fleet-operations platform powering our autonomous ride-sharing service.

You will drive technical direction across the stack, mentor engineers, and partner with product, design, QA, and operations to deliver scalable full‑stack solutions for fleet monitoring, in‑vehicle visualization, and live ride operations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with web app focus.
• Experience building applications with Node.js, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Vue, React, or Svelte and modern frontend practices.
• Ability to design and architect large-scale, full-stack systems and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Architect & own mission-critical, real-time fleet-operations platforms.
• Set technical direction across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Lead design discussions, perform code reviews, and mentor engineers.
• Partner with product, design, QA, and operations to deliver scalable solutions.
