Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager I, Operations to oversee a single site/account or fleet, including supervision of staff and drivers. The role focuses on optimizing assets through budget analysis and driving customer satisfaction with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

The position is typically on-site at the customer facility with flexible shift requirements, including days, nights, and weekends, and may involve travel to various locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3-4 years of supervisory experience or military equivalent
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance, or related field with 1-2 years supervisory experience
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company events

Responsibilities

• Promote, manage, and maintain a positive work environment to improve efficiency and driver retention
• Forecast freight volumes and plan capacity for fleet coverage
• Train on and audit processes; communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues
• Manage fleet operations including driver board, customer service, safety, and compliance
• Oversee financial performance, cost control, and profitability; present business reviews
• Compile reports on operational, financial, and service metrics; monitor KPIs
• Ensure fleet compliance with Safety and DOT training; address safety needs
• Facilitate employee training and development; optimize performance and retention
• Serve as the main contact with assigned customers/ramp for service excellence
• Contribute input to annual budget and review budget vs actual performance
