Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create and modify drivers’ schedules independently to ensure efficient delivery.
• Monitor fuel usage and decide when/where to deliver or divert loads.
• Determine number of trips and assign drivers/equipment.
• Supervise drivers and ensure load safety.
• Coordinate daily terminal activities via orders (phone, fax, in person).
• Review orders and prepare schedules for local/long-distance moves.
• Ensure drivers follow fleet directions on routes and load changes.
• Assess driver fitness for duty and dispatch unsafe drivers home.
• Comply with all Federal, State and local rules and regulations.
• Assist drivers in locating difficult addresses.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
• Interpret and enforce company policies.
• Reinforce safety policy during loading, unloading and driving.
