Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking an Assistant Fleet Manager to support the Fleet Manager in overseeing the company’s vehicle fleet operations, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance across our distribution network.

You will lead driver oversight, monitor metrics, and coach teams to improve on-time performance and safety, with a $65,000–$75,000 annual salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation management or dispatching in logistics.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS).
• Exceptional organizational skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Set driver expectations on safety, performance, and policy compliance.
• Monitor DOT compliance, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Track metrics: on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, hours of service (HOS).
• Communicate policies clearly and coach drivers to ensure alignment with company decisions.
• Resolve routing, load assignments, and equipment issues promptly.
• Foster a collaborative team environment where drivers feel supported.
• Drive operational excellence to meet delivery timelines and address issues quickly.
• Maintain documentation and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
