Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking an Assistant Fleet Manager to support the Fleet Manager in overseeing the vehicle fleet, ensuring on-time deliveries, cost-effectiveness, and DOT-compliant operations.

The role requires experience in transportation management, strong knowledge of DOT regulations, and the ability to lead drivers in a fast-paced environment. Location is on-site in Leesport, PA with various shift schedules to support production and distribution.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation management, dispatching, or similar leadership role in logistics.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS), and safety requirements.
• Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and industry tools.
• Excellent communication and leadership to engage and motivate drivers.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset for transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Driver Oversight: set expectations for safety, performance, and policy compliance.
• Safety First: monitor DOT compliance and safety standards.
• Performance Monitoring: track on-time performance, fuel efficiency, HOS, routing.
• Communication & Coaching: explain policies and decisions to drivers.
• Problem-Solving: resolve routing, load, and equipment issues.
• Team Environment: build a collaborative team atmosphere.
• Operational Excellence: meet delivery timelines and address issues promptly.
• Compliance & Documentation: monitor performance and provide coaching or actions.
